Answer (Essay - Wonders of Science):

Introduction: Modern age is the age of science. Science has changed the face of the world. It has made our life easier, faster, and more comfortable.

Electricity: Electricity is the greatest invention. It lights our houses and runs machines in factories. Without it, modern life is impossible.

Means of Communication: Mobile phones, internet, and computers have brought the world closer. We can talk to anyone anywhere in seconds. The internet provides us with knowledge and information.

Medical Science: Science has found cures for many deadly diseases. Surgery and X-rays help in diagnosing problems. It has increased the life span of humans.

Conclusion: Science is a blessing for humanity. But it should be used wisely. "Science is a good servant but a bad master."

Answer (Paragraph - Importance of Trees):

Trees are our best friends. They give us oxygen which is essential for life. They absorb carbon dioxide and reduce pollution. Trees provide us with wood, fruits, medicines, and shade. They prevent soil erosion and bring rain. Birds build nests on trees. Without trees, our earth would become a desert. We should stop cutting trees and plant more of them. "Save Trees, Save Earth."

Answer (Assuming Picture of 'Healthy Lifestyle'):

The picture depicts a healthy lifestyle. We see people exercising, jogging, and doing yoga in a park. This shows that regular physical activity is important for fitness. Some people are eating fresh fruits and vegetables, which means a balanced diet is essential. Drinking plenty of water and getting good sleep are also part of a healthy life. Staying fit keeps diseases away and makes us happy.

Answer: Lencho was a simple, hardworking farmer. He worked like an ox in the fields. He had immense faith in God. When his crops were destroyed by hailstones, he did not lose hope but wrote a letter to God asking for 100 pesos. He was innocent and naive, as he became angry when he received less money, thinking the post office employees stole it.

Answer: The bus conductor was a jolly and kind-hearted man. He was amused by Valli's behavior and mature way of talking. He respectfully called her 'Madam'. He offered her a seat and even offered to buy her a cold drink in the town, which she refused. He made sure she was comfortable and safe during the journey.

Q.15. Answer the following in about 75 words (Any 1 from Poetry): (3 Marks)
What is the central idea of the poem 'Fire and Ice'?

Do you think Amanda is a sulking and moody child? Why/Why not?

Answer: The poem discusses the end of the world. 'Fire' stands for desire, greed, and lust, while 'Ice' stands for hatred, coldness, and indifference. The poet says both are powerful enough to destroy the world. He warns that if humans do not control their emotions, the world will perish.

Thus, by wearing clothes, he became a visible person. Later, in the theatrical company, he wore bandages, dark glasses, a false nose, and whiskers to become fully visible.

Answer: Bholi refused to marry Bishamber because he was a greedy and mean person. When he saw Bholi's pock-marks, he demanded 5000 rupees as dowry from her father. Bholi realized that he had no respect for her or her family. She decided not to marry such a coward and heartless man, showing her self-respect and courage.

1. Pollution Problem

Introduction: Pollution is one of the biggest problems facing the modern world. It means the contamination of the natural environment.

Types: There are mainly four types of pollution: Air, Water, Soil, and Noise pollution.

Causes: Smoke from factories and vehicles causes air pollution. Dumping waste into rivers causes water pollution. Excessive use of plastic causes soil pollution.

Effects: Pollution causes many diseases like asthma and cancer. It leads to global warming.

Conclusion: We must plant trees and reduce the use of plastic to save our earth.

2. Importance of Sports

Introduction: "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy." Sports are essential for overall development.

Physical Fitness: Sports keep us healthy and fit. They improve blood circulation and muscle strength.

Mental Health: Sports teach us discipline, patience, and team spirit. They reduce stress.

Conclusion: Every student should participate in sports for a healthy life.

3. My Hobby

Introduction: A hobby is an activity done for pleasure during free time. My hobby is gardening.

Why I like it: I love nature. Growing plants gives me immense joy. I have a small garden in my house.
