He collected money from his employees and friends and gave part of his salary. He signed the letter 'God' so that Lencho would believe that God had answered his prayer and sent the money.

Q.15. Answer the following in about 75 words (Any 1 from Poetry): (3 Marks)
How does the poet Frost present nature in the poem 'Dust of Snow'?
OR
What is the theme of the poem 'The Trees'?

Answer: Frost presents nature in a very unconventional way. He uses a 'crow' and a 'hemlock tree', which are generally associated with bad omens, sadness, or death. However, in the poem, these agents of nature bring joy and change the poet's mood from sad to happy. He highlights that even negative aspects of nature can have a positive impact on us.

Answer: The poem 'The Trees' by Adrienne Rich highlights the conflict between man and nature. Humans have confined nature (trees) inside their homes for decoration. But nature cannot be imprisoned forever. The trees struggle to break free from the house and move back to their natural habitat, the forest. It symbolizes the victory of nature over man's attempt to control it.

Answer: Matilda's dissatisfaction, vanity, and desire for luxury were the causes of her ruin. She was born into a poor family but dreamed of riches. She borrowed a diamond necklace to show off at a party but lost it. To replace it, she and her husband borrowed huge money and spent ten years in poverty paying off the debt, only to find out the necklace was fake.
