Garbage is a great environment hazard. It comes from various sources—used paper, tiffin packings, plastic bags, ice-cream wrappers, bottle caps, fallen leaves from trees and many more. Garbage makes the premises ugly, unkempt and breeds diseases. A lot of trash that is thrown away contains material that can be recycled and reused such as paper, metals and glass which can be sent to the nearest recycling centre or disposed of to the junk dealer. Q.5. Attempt any one of the following long compositions in about 120 words: (4 Marks)
(A) Write an article on 'Health is Wealth'.
OR
(B) Write a report on the 'Annual Function' of your school.
OR
(C) Prepare a speech on 'Save Water'.
Health is Wealth
The famous proverb "Health is Wealth" means that health is the most valuable asset a person can possess. A healthy person can work hard and achieve success, whereas a sick person becomes a burden on others. Money can buy medicines but not health. Therefore, maintaining good health should be our priority.
To stay healthy, one must follow a balanced diet, exercise regularly, and get adequate sleep. We should avoid junk food and bad habits like smoking and drinking. Mental health is equally important; meditation and yoga help in reducing stress.
In conclusion, a healthy body houses a healthy mind. If we lose wealth, we lose nothing; if we lose health, we lose something; but if we lose character, we lose everything. So, let us pledge to keep ourselves fit and healthy.

Save Water, Save Life
Respected Principal, teachers, and my dear friends. Today, I want to speak on the topic 'Save Water'. Water is the most precious gift of nature. Life on earth is impossible without water. It is used for drinking, cooking, cleaning, and agriculture.
However, water is becoming scarce due to overpopulation, pollution, and wastage. Many parts of the world are facing acute water shortage. If we do not save water now, our future generations will suffer. We must adopt methods like rainwater harvesting and stop wasting water in our daily activities.
Let us take a pledge today to use water wisely. Remember, "Every drop counts." Saving water is saving life. Thank you.

Computers are capable of doing extremely complicated work in all branches of learning. They can solve the most complex mathematical problems or put a thousand unrelated data in order. These machines can be put to varied uses. For instance, they can provide information on the best way to prevent traffic accidents. They work accurately and at high speed. They save research workers years of hard work. This whole process, by which machines can be used to work for us, has been called 'automation'. In future, automation may enable human beings to enjoy more leisure than they do today. The coming of automation is bound to have important social consequences.
Some years ago, an expert on automation, Sir Leon Bagrit, pointed out that it was a mistake to believe that these machines could think. There is no possibility that human beings will be controlled by machines. Though computers are capable of learning from their mistakes and improving their performance, they need detailed instructions from human beings to operate. They can never lead independent lives or rule the world by making decisions of their own.

Q.2. Read the following passage carefully and make notes on it also give a suitable title to it. (4 Marks)
The heart is one of the most vital components of the human body. The human heart has the continuous job to keep oxygen-rich blood flowing through the body. All the body's cells need a constant supply of oxygen, particularly in the brain. The brain cells live only four to five minutes after the oxygen is cut off and death comes to the entire body. Heart disease can result from damage to the heart muscles, the valves or the pacemaker. If the muscle is damaged, the heart is unable to pump properly. If the valves are damaged, blood cannot flow normally. Dr. Christian Barnard performed the first human heart transplant in 1967.

(A) Write an article on 'Man and Mobile'.
OR
(B) Write a report on a 'Road Accident' you witnessed.
OR
(C) Prepare a speech on 'Importance of English'.
Man and Mobile: A Necessity or Addiction?
In the 21st century, the mobile phone has become an integral part of human life. It is no longer just a device for making calls; it is a mini-computer in our pockets. It helps us stay connected, access information, navigate maps, and entertain ourselves. During the pandemic, mobiles played a crucial role in online education and work-from-home.
However, excessive use of mobile phones has its downsides. People, especially the youth, are becoming addicted to social media and gaming. It affects their eyesight, posture, and mental health. Face-to-face social interaction is decreasing as everyone is busy looking at their screens. Cybercrimes are also on the rise.
In conclusion, the mobile phone is a wonderful invention if used wisely. We should master technology, not let it master us. We must set limits on our screen time and use mobiles for productive purposes rather than just entertainment.
A Horrible Road Accident
(By: Amit Kumar)
Indore, 12th March 2026: A terrible road accident took place yesterday evening near the busy Rajwada crossing. I was returning from school when I heard a deafening crash. A speeding car tried to overtake a bus and collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction.
The impact was so severe that the front part of the car was completely crushed. A huge crowd gathered at the spot immediately. People tried to help the passengers trapped inside the car. The police arrived within ten minutes and an ambulance was called. Two persons died on the spot, and three others were critically injured.
The injured were rushed to the M.Y. Hospital. The driver of the truck fled the scene. This accident is a grim reminder of the dangers of rash driving. It left everyone in a state of shock and sorrow.
Importance of English
Respected teachers and dear friends. Today, I am going to speak on the 'Importance of English'. English is a global language. It is spoken and understood in almost every part of the world. In India, it serves as a link language connecting people of different states.
English is the language of science, technology, and the internet. Most of the higher education in medicine, engineering, and computers is imparted in English. Knowing English opens up better job opportunities not only in India but also abroad. It helps us access global knowledge and culture.
However, learning English does not mean neglecting our mother tongue. We should love our mother tongue but also learn English to progress in the modern world. It is a window to the world.
