Florence Nightingale was born on May 12, 1820, in Florence, Italy. Her parents were wealthy and she was raised in England. At the age of 17, she felt that God had called her to do some work, but she didn't know what it was. Later, she realized that she was called to nurse the sick. In those days, nursing was not considered a respectable profession for educated women. Despite strong opposition from her family, she went to Germany to learn nursing. During the Crimean War (1854), she led a team of 38 nurses to serve the wounded soldiers. She would walk through the wards at night with a lighted lamp, which earned her the title 'The Lady with the Lamp'.
Solar energy is a renewable source of energy. It is free and available in plenty. It is non-polluting. We can use solar energy for cooking, lighting, and heating. Solar cookers and solar water heaters are becoming popular. Solar cells are used to convert sunlight directly into electricity. This electricity can be stored in batteries and used when required. India is a tropical country and has vast potential for producing solar energy. The government is encouraging the use of solar energy by providing subsidies. It is the energy of the future.

Subject: Nuisance of Loudspeakers during Exams.
Sir,
I would like to draw your attention to the problem of loudspeakers in our area. Our Board exams are approaching. Students need a quiet atmosphere to study. However, some people play loudspeakers at high volume till late at night. It causes great disturbance and we are unable to concentrate on our studies.
I request you to impose a ban on the use of loudspeakers during the examination period.
Thanking you,
Yours faithfully,
Amit
